Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF

After learning about the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund and about the plights of children in less affluent areas around the world, students set out on Halloween night carrying little, orange UNICEF collection boxes along with their candy bags.

Counting up the coins after Halloween 2009, Delphi students were thrilled to find they had raised $865.15 for UNICEF. This put them at the status of UNICEF “Delegate” for 2009. Great job!

Some UNICEF statistics:

Just 6 cents provides water for one thirsty child.
$45 provides school supplies to twenty children.
$112 provides emergency blankets to 37 kids.
