Form 2 (3rd grade) students at Delphi are in charge of the school-wide Food Drive in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving each year. The children make posters and signs, and encourage each class to bring in canned goods and non-perishable items for the hungry folks in the South Bay Area. On the Friday before Thanksgiving, all the Form 2 students load up Delphi’s donations and bring them to the Second Harvest Food Bank. They take a tour of the Food Bank and weigh their donation on a giant scale. After finding out the weight of the donation, all of the students step on the scale to find out how much the whole class weighs all together. Their goal each year is to have the total weight of the donations far surpass the total weight of the class. We’re proud to say that over the years, this objective has always been achieved!
